SAINTS manager Russell Martin revealed that midfielder Stuart Armstrong will miss the trip to Blackburn Rovers due to a concussion.
The 32-year-old has not missed a Championship game this season, making 38 appearances in the league.
Armstrong threaded the ball for his namesake, Adam Armstrong, to give Saints the lead in the final 3-2 loss to Ipswich Town.
However, he received a knock to the head after a confrontation with Tractor Boys midfielder Massimo Luongo and has been ruled out this weekend.
Everyone is pretty good but we are without James Bree, who is suspended, he remarked.
Stuey Armstrong is concussed and will be out tomorrow. He received a heavy blow to the head from Massimo Luongo.
He wasn’t feeling well in the second half, a little sleepy. He has been assessed, and we have followed the protocols.
We want to have him back by Tuesday, but he must first pass his tests and examinations with the physicians.
Stuey will miss tomorrow; I haven’t seen him much this week; he’s come in, completed his assessments, and then left.
We have to follow the protocol so he will be out tomorrow but we hope to have him back for Tuesday.
