As was previously announced, both sides have been collaborating to improve the atmosphere at home games. In order for our devoted fans to continue being able to afford our games, we also need to minimise expenses.
Consequently, the North West corner and the three blocks that surround it will be open for the next game in response to some of the concerns expressed by supporters during the league opener against Barrow.
In an effort to encourage supporters to get loud and enthusiastic about the team, the club has been actively interacting with those who visit that area of the stadium. As a result, the club bought a drum to be used in that area, and supporters are urged to bring banners and flags that are suitably fireproof and can be kept at the stadium.
In an effort to maintain a positive relationship with the Vikings, Halton Council has worked closely with the team to make sure that fans will still have easy access to food and drink concessions during the game. A number of new pop-up stations have been installed to ensure that fans won’t be inconvenienced by having to travel a distance to make purchases. The focal bar and toilets will not be open.
“We have listened to fans’ feedback following the Barrow game, and this new layout is a direct consequence of that,” stated Chris Hamilton, Head of Operations. In order to capitalise on the fantastic start we had against Barrow, we want to attract as many fans as possible to the DCBL, create the best environment we can, and encourage them to support the squad.
“We hope that supporters will recognise the strength of our collaboration with the council, which is exemplified by the efforts the council has put up to get this off. There will be food and drink stands nearby, and fans may enter the stadium easily through turnstiles NW1 and NW2, which are located in the stadium’s northwest corner that everything is at hand for fans in the North Stand.
“This Friday, we want everyone to support Allan and the boys. The North Stand’s blocks will open up 1500 seats for fans.
“The club is really grateful for the council’s assistance in resolving this, and it’s another example of our collaboration with them.
“As we aim for another two competition points, we hope to see lots of you down at the DCBL this Friday, both in the stadium and in the DCBL Longhouse.”
