Josh Wilson-Esbrand declared that his campaign is finished.
After joining the Bluebirds at the end of January, the Manchester City flier will compete with Jamilu Collins for the left-side defensive position. He had moments when he appeared quick and intelligent, but he also had games where his defence appeared weak.
He started last Saturday’s match against Hull City at left back and was substituted off soon after while holding his hamstring. Regretfully, it is severe enough to keep him out of the Bluebirds’ remaining four games of the season.
He posted on social media, “Unfortunately, my season is coming to an end.” “Despite being a patchy season, it has been productive overall.
Wilson-Esbrand appeared in 11 Championship games for the Bluebirds, starting eight of them. “Big thanks to those at Stade Reims & Cardiff City. Wishing you all the best for the future. Time to get right and be back fit for what I hope is a smooth and successful season to come! God is great!”
Collins ‘calm’ on Bulut situation
The players are “calm” about Erol Bulut’s position, according to Jamilu Collins, even if the manager’s contract is going to expire in four games.
Although Bulut has stated that his discussions with chairman Mehmet Dalman have been “positive” (you can read about that here), Vincent Tan will ultimately decide if the manager stays on after this season.
But Cardiff’s performance in the latter part of the season has been outstanding. They have clinched a mid-table position after winning six of their last nine games. A welcome respite for enthusiasts following two terrible seasons in a row.
Tan’s main concern is probably because Bulut’s style of play is being criticised by some fans, while others want him to keep playing. Collins did, however, state that the players are OK with the situation and support the manager.
The Nigerian international stated, “To be honest, everything is calm.” “In the locker room, we’re all grinning while we play the games. Everything is good; the boys are getting along well with the manager, who is excellent.
“We have played for the manager to stay since the beginning of the season. We are doing it consistently, and we’ll keep doing it until the end of the season in order to earn as many points as the management requests.
“We only engage in play. We just enjoy playing football since we don’t exactly know what’s going on. We’re simply having fun; we have no idea what’s going on there; if we did, we would definitely tell you. There is quiet and the manager always smiles with the guys.
“I don’t need to elaborate; everyone has observed the improvement. We are all able to observe the improvement [in comparison to] the previous two seasons.”
Neil Harris’ message to fans ahead of facing his old club
Neil Harris has begged Millwall supporters to “galvanise” their team in preparation for Cardiff City, his former team, visiting.
Despite being in danger of dropping into the relegation zone, the Lions have gained some crucial points recently, including a victory over Leicester City on Tuesday night.
With four games remaining before the Bluebirds arrive this Saturday, Millwall sits four points above the relegation zone. Harris gave Lions supporters a thunderous speech.
“We went to Rotherham and within the space of five days there is a bit of negativity around the group because I’m sure they feel they’ve let the fans down,” the former Cardiff manager stated.
There isn’t enough time in the changing room for that. The supporters are aware that this is a challenging time for us. There won’t be smooth sailing and there will be hiccups along the way.
“We had a couple of losses, and while we played well against Leicester, we still have work to do. We are in a challenging situation.”
