Gary O’Neil has confirmed that Rayan Ait-Nouri, Craig Dawson, and Hwang Hee-chan will all be in Wolverhampton Wanderers’ matchday squad against Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.
Hwang and Dawson have not played since the beginning of March owing to hamstring and groyne issues, respectively, but they have been in full training this week and are ready to play. Ait-Nouri, meanwhile, had been a worry after suffering a calf injury against West Ham United last week, but he has been cleared.
Unfortunately for Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, the £12.8 million signing remains out due to a knee issue. It was initially assumed that the situation was not serious, but the timeframe is rising. In a last report, Matheus Cunha has improved his fitness levels following two substitute appearances.
“Hee-chan is in the matchday squad, which is fantastic news for us,” head coach O’Neill told The Athletic. “Cunha is still OK and part of the squad, as is Dawson.
“It probably comes too fast for Bellegarde. Rayan will travel with the group. He’s had a different week than everyone else, and he’s had a minor hiccup, but I see him playing a role,” O’Neil explained.
