Hugh Keevins has blasted Phillipe Clement for remarks he made about former referee Dermot Gallagher during Rangers vs. Celtic.

It’s easy to conclude that after some disparaging remarks about Fabio Silva, the manager of the Gers was eager to support his team.

Despite winning a penalty, the 21-year-old Portuguese loanee faced criticism for his own performance with the previous team.

Gallagher disagreed with the claims that he had dove to get the spot-kick. Upon noticing this, the Rangers manager responded angrily, stating, “He is more of a favourite of Celtic.”

In an interview with the Daily Record, Keevins expressed his annoyance at Clement and the remarks he made after leaving Old Firm.

“What have we done to him in the last six months?” he exclaimed. Arriving here, Clement was a sophisticated guy, his continental glitter enhanced by several title victories in Belgium and a stint at Monaco in France.

He’s now droning on about how different people’s spectacles are coloured. or informing us that Dermot Gallagher, the on-site referee for Sky Sports, is more of a Celtics fan than an impartial observer.

Did Fabio Silva dive for Rangers in the Old Firm?

With VAR in the mix, there is plenty of conversation revolving around each and every decision that is made in the SPFL.

John Beaton was satisfied that Silva had dived inside the Old Firm as Alistair Johnston made a tackle.

A thorough investigation revealed that the Canadian had really made touch with the Rangers player, and the player was penalised.

The Wolves loanee had a quiet game other from this, being substituted after just 33 touches and 69 minutes [FotMob].

He only completed nine accurate passes, failed to make any tackles, and lost six duels, which made things harder for Dujon Sterling to follow.

As Silva went down multiple times in the first half, the referee frequently chose to ignore him, prompting criticism of him for diving earlier in the match. He was booked for going down inside the Celtic penalty area, so perhaps this changed his mind.

It might be argued that Silva had the right to go down and receive a penalty because the defender made contact with him. There are undoubtedly valid issues on both sides of the dispute.

In other Rangers news, Michael Stewart is liable to explode as a notoriously unpopular element to the Dundee controversy emerges.
