Manchester United are scouting Port Vale youngster Baylee Dipepa ahead of a potential move, with Fabrizio Romano providing an update.
Under the direction of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, Manchester United is seeking to acquire younger players. Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Red Devils are scouting Port Vale “wonderkid” Baylee Dipepa.
Ratcliffe will surely be trying to make changes behind the scenes in an effort to turn the club around after years of mismanagement and bad hiring. The Manchester team has overspent on players who have little chance of selling, so adding some younger, more well-known players would be advantageous.
Scouting Man UTD Baylee Dipepa
This season, the 17-year-old has made a big impression.
“The Man United scouting crew has finally been keeping tabs on 17-year-old Port Vale wonderkid Baylee Dipepa. We can wait and see if they choose to move forward with negotiations, but that will rely on the new board they are now establishing.
In spite of his advanced age, Dipepa has already made appearances in 24 senior games for Port Vale, tallying three goals, and he is beginning to catch the attention of European clubs. The 17-year-old just recently agreed to a professional deal that would keep him with the team until 2026, but it now seems like United may try to wrangle him away from the League One team.
Although Port Vale CEO Matt Hancock has acknowledged that it could be challenging to hold onto the England youth international, no approaches or offers have been made as of yet. Given the impact he’s already had in senior football, United may need to go above and beyond to win the competition for his signing.
Romano previously told GIVEMESPORT that United wanted to scout and sign the top young players worldwide under INEOS. The Red Devils’ desire to sign a player with a different profile is undoubtedly encouraging for Old Trafford followers.
Man Utd is pursuing Jarrad Branthwaite of Everton and may make a bid for the young player.
Manchester Evening News reports that ahead of the summer transfer window, United is still after Jarrad Branthwaite, a promising player for Everton. Due to continuous financial issues, the Toffees may be compelled to cash in, and the Red Devils may try to take advantage of this.
Given that Raphael Varane is nearing the conclusion of his career and that his future is unclear, United may decide to consider a younger player as they make long-term plans. When the market opens later this year, Branthwaite is sure to draw a lot of attention, so it might be challenging to close the purchase.
