THE Salisbury FC chairman has issued a statement in response to a number of violent incidents that have occurred at recent games, underlining that lifelong bans may be imposed.

As previously reported, after a disturbance event in the fans during a football match between Salisbury and Basingstoke Town, a 15-year-old kid had a facial injury. On Monday, April 1, at approximately 4:15 p.m., an incident took place at Ray Mac Stadium.

The boy’s wounds needed medical attention.

A few weeks ago, at the Ray Mac, there was another violent “crowd disturbance” when the Whites played Harrow Borough.

It was stated that during the Saturday, April 13, game, objects were hurled at the Harrow goalkeeper.

Salisbury FC chairman Ian Hammond has now spoken on the situation. According to the statement posted on the club’s website, any offense—whether it be violent, antisocial, or racial—will be handled in the “appropriate manner.”

“I think we can all agree that this season has been not just successful, but we have seen some really exciting games from Brian and the team,” the statement in its whole reads. We’ve guaranteed a spot in the playoffs, and we’re waiting to find out who gets to play where in the league standings.

“Due to this season’s success, the pubs and tea huts have witnessed a rise in revenue and larger audiences. All of this is necessary to guarantee the club’s financial stability going forward, regardless of the level at which we play the next season.

“The kinds of occurrences that happened this month in the Harrow (things thrown at the custodian) and Basingstoke (crowd disturbance) games will not be helpful. The match officials reported both incidences to the FA, and we are awaiting their rulings, which may include fines and/or sanctions.

“Anyone found guilty of any offence, including violent crimes, racist offences, or antisocial behaviour, will face the proper consequences. Depending on the seriousness of the act, this could entail a season-long penalty, an immediate removal from the field, or possibly a lifetime ban. The police would get involved as well, if needed.

“Any supporters who see any form of anti-social activity are asked to report it right away to the closest steward so that the proper measures can be implemented.

“Finally, to return to the football let’s cheer on the team in our last league game and any playoff matches in the right way.”
