NFL Analyst Exposes Why Ryan Day Will Break Through in 2024

The Ohio State Buckeyes’ 2023 national title dreams failed.

The Ohio State Buckeyes were eliminated from the Big Ten Championship and College Football Playoff after losing three consecutive against Michigan. After that, the Buckeyes lost poorly to Missouri in the Cotton Bowl.

Head coach Ryan Day’s revamp was substantial. The Buckeyes now appear to be national title contenders.

Based on his many improvements, 247 Sports analyst Brad Crawford thinks Day is the most likely coach to win his first national title.

Crawford stated Ryan Day and the Buckeyes destroyed collegiate football after their bowl defeat to Missouri. Recent events score high in offseason talent acquisition among elites. The way Ohio State is recruiting and focusing on NIL suggests the Buckeyes want to win their first national title since 2014 and first under Day next autumn. This is one of the nation’s most talented rosters, and with CFP expansion, the Buckeyes should likely qualify.

How did Ohio State turn things around? Starting with keeping their star home.

The Buckeyes returned 15 of 22 starters from a top-five defense last year because many believed they had unfinished business after the season concluded.

Ohio State recruited a top-three class, led by No. 1 overall prospect Jeremiah Smith, and secured former Kansas State Wildcat Will Howard to replace Kyle McCord through the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Finally, they added Transfer Portal top talent Caleb Downs at safety and Quinshon Judkins at running back.

Former Penn State and Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien was hired as offensive coordinator to complete the “rebuild” by Day. A top offensive coach, O’Brien has worked with Nick Saban and Bill Belichick.

Day knew the assignment, with the Buckeyes again a national power.
