Police say the blaze is not being treated as suspicious.

A terrifying flat fire in Glasgow claimed the life of a man.

After hearing the alarm at six in the morning on Friday, emergency personnel raced to the fire on Polwarth Street in Hyndland.

It has since been confirmed that a man has died.

According to police, they do not consider the fire to be suspicious.

Images from the scene show the windows of the tenement flat blown out following the incident.

Police, fire crews and ambulance teams were pictured in attendance.

“A man has died following a fire in a flat in Polwarth Street, Hyndland,” a spokesman for Police Scotland stated. The fire was reported to the police on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 7:30 a.m.There is no reason to suspect the fire.”
