Latest Preston North End transfer news as a player on their radar sees his list of suitors grow.
Two additional teams have entered the hunt to recruit Marc Leonard, a midfielder for Brighton & Hove Albion, with Preston North End.
According to Football Insider, Leonard’s signature is being pursued by Sheffield United and Hull City. The Lilywhites, Cardiff City, and Plymouth Argyle are reportedly interested in the 22-year-old, indicating how in demand he is.
Following Sheffield United’s Premier League relegation this past weekend, the Blades will need to put together a team that can make an instant return. Hull and them might switch places because they both have a chance to make the play-offs; all they need to do is defeat Plymouth and hope that North End defeats West Brom.
Swansea City was reportedly interested, according to earlier reports, but Luke Williams addressed the rumours last week and said he was unaware of the speculation. Despite the meeting for their transfer plans, he did not exclude out moving out for himself.
He remarked, “I haven’t actually heard anything yet. However, a significant recruitment meeting is scheduled for later this week, which may provide further details.
“But I don’t know.”
Leonard has been at Northampton Town for the past two seasons, winning their Player of the Year awards voted on by their players and supporters. All six clubs who have been highly linked with him over the last 18 months would reportedly have to pay a sum of around £300,000 to obtain his services.
