Real Madrid will likely have to fight hard for three points against Getafe this evening at the Coliseum as they look to replace Girona at the top of the table. Los Blancos do have a big game against city rivals Atletico Madrid on Sunday night, but they risk losing two crucial midfielders.

Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga have four yellow cards in La Liga and will be suspended against Los Rojiblancos if they are booked in what promises to be a tense match in Getafe. Normally, Carlo Ancelotti must choose between them at the base of his midfield, but this decision may be made easier for him.

If both are ruled out, Fede Valverde will partner Toni Kroos against Atletico Madrid, according to Diario AS. The Uruguayan’s best performances this season have come from that position, as have Real Madrid’s, so it will not be a significant imposition on the starting lineup if that occurs. Real Madrid will aim to exact revenge on Atletico after being knocked out of the Copa del Rey by Los Colchoneros in their fourth meeting of the season. Atletico leads 2-1.
