With the Euros moving into the latter phases of the competition and the group stages drawing to an end, Celtic supporters should expect the transfer-silly season to get up a little bit.

Tonight’s group stage matches will determine more clubs’ elimination, so as players return home from Germany, the transfer market is probably going to pick up steam.
However, Duk, an Aberdeen striker, has been extremely vocal about his future. The Cape Verde international striker was asked if he would like to join Celtic, as we talked about last week.

The CEO of The Dons, Alan Burrows, has stepped out to give his player a message after he stated that he wants to leave Aberdeen and join one of the best leagues in Europe.

Burrows delivers some ‘advice’ to Aberdeen striker

Duk enjoyed a successful debut season at Pittodrie, helping Aberdeen place third in the Scottish Premiership with 18 goals in 43 games.

However, Duk’s goals suffered along with the team’s struggles in the previous campaign, and Alan Burrows warns the 24-year-old that he must start contributing on the pitch if he wants a transfer.

According to Burrows [Sky Sports Scotland], Duk is actually an Aberdeen player. We anticipate that unless someone presents us with an offer that alters that, he will remain an Aberdeen player.

“And he’ll play for Aberdeen until the end of his contract if it doesn’t.”

“There aren’t any official offers. Prior to this time, there had been offers that didn’t match our valuation.

“My advice to any football player, Duk or not, is that if you genuinely want to move, the best place to earn it is on the pitch, where you should go after it with all of your might and show everyone what you can and are doing.”

Duk has made 186 career appearances, generating 19 assists and 54 goals. The issue with that is that just twenty-five of those have played in a premier league.

After coming through the youth systems, Duk was stuck in the Portuguese second division with Benfica until joining Aberdeen.

Duk, 24, still has a lot to prove, and while he may be talented enough to play strike for Celtic, I don’t think the Aberdeen man would seriously consider it given his inconsistent play and lack of big-game experience. He has only played in two seasons of senior football.
