Johnnie Jackson, the manager of AFC Wimbledon, claims that everyone involved is keen to extend Omar Bugiel’s contract.

The 30-year-old scored his ninth and tenth goals of the season in Tuesday night’s 2-0 victory over Gillingham after joining on a free transfer from League Two rivals Sutton in the summer.

Bugiel signed a one-year contract to play for Plough Lane.

This season, he has made 41 appearances under the former Charlton manager.

“I’ve had productive conversations with Omar,” Jackson remarked.

“He enjoys being here, and we are happy to have him here.

Everyone is eager to try and ensure his future, according to this.

Jackson responded, “There is no getting away from the fact that Bugiel was an important signing,” when asked if he was the most significant acquisition of the summer.

“What he did to my team last season was the reason I signed him.”

“I recognised in him the qualities that a successful team at this level needs.” We signed a lot of quality players, but we moved quickly to accomplish that.

“The first person we worked with was Jake Reeves, the skipper, whom I had been pursuing for a while after he led Stevenage to promotion.

“We were happy to obtain a few that we pursued early.”

“Omar is now receiving praise, so I’ll give him his due.”
