Less than a week remains before the champions of Europe return to training at the Valdebebas. As the defending champions of both La Liga and the UCL, there will be pressure on the dressing room heading into the new season.

Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, however, will see significant changes ahead of the new campaign. Players like Toni Kroos and Nacho Fernandez have left the club while others, including Kylian Mbappe and Endrick, are set to arrive.

The likes of Andriy Lunin and Dani Ceballos fall into a third category with an uncertain future, and journalist Rodra P provides an update on the same.

Interest from the Premier League
According to the Spanish journalist, Arsenal are interested in signing Lunin this summer. Mikel Arteta’s side are looking for a new goalkeeper and the 25-year-old is one of the names on their list.

After Thibaut Courtois was sidelined for the majority of the previous campaign due to injury, Lunin stepped up and became a staple in Madrid under Ancelotti.

Due to his consistency, he became well-known all over the world and was regarded as one of the greatest in the industry.

But with Courtois returning in the lineup for the 2024–25 campaign, it is evident that the Ukrainian star will not be as prominent. As a result, leaving has become a real possibility.

The journalist goes on to say that Lunin has given Real Madrid the assurance that he would be available on July 15, the opening day of preseason, despite the interest from rival clubs. The athlete is actually excited to get to work ahead of schedule.

His future is uncertain, nevertheless, as he has not yet replied to Real Madrid’s offer to extend his contract until 2029, which was issued at the end of the last campaign.

Real Madrid is still optimistic in the event that Lunin departs because they believe Kepa Arrizabalaga can fill the vacuum if he joins on a free transfer. As a result, everyone is watching the Ukrainian star’s camp to see what choice he makes in the end. It’s possible that this could be the case.
