Former Arsenal hero Alex Hleb is backing Monaco and Russia star Aleksandr Golovin to follow in his Premier League footsteps with The Gunners an ideal destination for the stylish attacking midfielder.
Hleb is qualified to give such an opinion because the Belarusian legend, who played his best football on the red half of North London, shared many of the traits that have made Aleksandr Golovin one of Europe’s best playmakers in the last year.
Golovin, who joined Monaco from CSKA Moscow after the 2018 Russian World Cup, has always been talented. Hleb is not the first to propose that Arsenal could be a good fit for a 27-year-old star in his prime. The £26 million guy is producing quality and consistency.
Aleksandr Golovin tipped for Arsenal
I know Aleksandr is a Monaco leader and a superb footballer. I liked him before; fast, inventive, sees the field well,” Hleb, a 2006 Champions League runner-up with Arsene Wenger, tells Championat. Aleksandr Golovin tipped for Arsenal

“All footballers want to improve. I think Aleksandr will choose his move.
You must progress to grow. Monaco are a good European team but not the best. If top clubs offer, move on and set higher aims. Go where the system suits your style, but be careful.
A team that plays excellent combination football is needed. That the coach trusts and wants you on the team is very important. We must evaluate everything.
Golovin fits Barca and Arsenal football well.”
Newcastle missed Monaco ace.
Golovin, whose agent mentioned Newcastle United, West Ham, and Everton in previous transfer windows, has five goals and seven assists for Monaco this season.
His skill set is currently unneeded in Arteta’s roster, as Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, and Emile Smith Rowe can play center offensive midfield.
