Arsenal push for double transfer deal as talks held over player return

As negotiations over a contract continue, Wolves goalkeeper Dan Bentley has drawn interest from Arsenal. The Gunners are considering backup options for No. 1 David Raya, who signed a permanent £27 million deal last week, in case deputy Aaron Ramsdale departs this summer. Ramsdale is expected to leave Arsenal should a suitable offer be made, and the 30-year-old Bentley has been identified as a potential target. Born and raised in Brentford, Bentley spent seven years of his youth career with the club before being released in 2008, and knows goalkeeper coach Inaki Cana from their time together at Brentford.

Wolves would only consider selling him if a reasonable offer was made that would enable them to reinvest the proceeds back into their team.

In the event that Ramsdale departs this summer, Arsenal would prefer to recruit a domestic custodian, as was stated by Standard Sport in May.

Calafiori is one of Arsenal’s primary targets as they attempt to add a left-sided defender to their roster.

Bologna is reportedly seeking over £40 million for Calafiori, a 22-year-old who excelled for Italy at Euro 2024. The Gunners and Bologna are in negotiations over a deal for the versatile player, who can play left or centre back. Last week, Bologna technical director Giovanni Sartori stated that the team wanted to retain Calafiori but acknowledged that they would entertain serious offers. “There is talk of Juventus but also of many other teams,” Sartori said.

At this point we will try to keep him. If important requests were to arise we will have to consider about it. “I am not saying that we will sell him because the president [Joey Saputo] has said that he wants to keep the whole team, but we will certainly make some evaluations.
