The most recent information on transfers involving Aston Villa, follows Matty Cash’s reported departure from the team last month due to financial needs to allay PSR fears

It seems less and less likely that Matty Cash will sign with AC Milan this summer.

This is according to Calcio Mercato, who explains that Villa will try to get their full asking price of €35–40 million (£29.6-33.8 million) for the Poland international now that the Premier League’s PSR deadline for 2023–2024 has passed and they have raised money from other sales. According to reports, the Italian club cannot afford this.

Villa increased their PSR compliance when Douglas Luiz’s anticipated €50 million (£42.3 million) sale to Juventus closed. This came after the club received £9 million from Tim Iroegbunam transfer to Everton a week prior.

Cash will presumably have to leave Villa or sign with another team as a result. He was identified as Milan’s top choice just two weeks ago by the same Italian source, but according to the most recent information, their focus will have to shift to Tottenham’s Emerson Royal.

According to reports, Royal is eager to go and has already had conversations with Milan’s executives. They want to approach Spurs in the near future to start formal discussions. According to reports, they expect to recruit the player for €17 million (£14.3 million) plus bonuses, which is a lot less than the Brazilian’s €25 million (£21.1 million) price tag.

Rivals of City and Inter Milan have also reportedly expressed interest in Cash due to rumors that Denzel Dumfries, their current choice, may be moving to Villa Park. The Dutchman is currently in the last 12 months of his San Siro contract, and the leaders are still determined to approve his extension.
