BirminghamLive provides the most recent Aston Villa news as Unai Emery’s team gets ready to play Ajax in the Europa Conference League.

Jordan Henderson made light of the fact that he is a huge admirer of Unai Emery and intended “no disrespect” when he joked that Aston Villa needs Jurgen Klopp to eventually challenge at the top.

Since taking over for Steven Gerrard, Emery has completely changed Villa. He guided the team to a seventh-place Premier League result the previous year and motivated them to contend for the top four and Champions League qualification this year. Additionally, he led Villa to the Europa Conference League playoffs.

In the competition’s round of sixteen, Villa will play Henderson’s Ajax, with the first leg taking place on Thursday night in Amsterdam. When asked what Villa needs to do to advance further in the future at Ajax’s pre-match press conference, former Liverpool captain Henderson jokedly said, “Jurgen Klopp.”

Henderson threw in a quick aside, saying, “I’m kidding. Emery is an excellent mentor.

They will go from strength to strength under the direction of this incredible manager, and they will aim to win the Champions League the following year.

“He just needs to keep doing what he’s been doing for his entire career—he knows what he’s doing. Without Jurgen, we wouldn’t have won and accomplished what we did at Liverpool. He changed everything. I was really fortunate to accomplish what we did.”
