After Dunfermline, Scott Brown gave Ayr a warning, saying they needed to learn from their failures.

United was defeated in Fife at the end of the first half after two goals in three minutes. In his post-mortem, Brown did not hold back, informing his players that they will have two weeks of intense training on the pitch prior to their next match in Inverness.

After goals from Chris Hamilton and Chris Kane gave the Pars the victory, the manager claimed that Ayr was losing too many games due to individual mistakes.

Brown stated: “We’ve made two more mistakes today that have cost us, and we’re currently causing a lot of problems for ourselves with individual errors in every game, so we need to make some important decisions.” The next game isn’t for another two weeks, so we need to start prioritising keeping clean sheets. We must have players who think they can keep a clean sheet and start winning games 1-0.

We have lost two, two, three, and two goals in our last few games. We are currently losing games because someone is currently making mistakes every time. I wouldn’t say that there was too much between the teams today; sometimes, it comes down to individual mistakes that cost us and who wants it that little bit more. They handled the conditions better than we did, even on a horrible pitch.

All the boys need to do is strengthen their minds. In training sessions, four or five minutes is OK, but putting in ninety-six or seventy-seven minutes is a matter of motivation and mindset. We need to put an end to the four or five mistakes that have been made in the previous few weeks, not just one or two. We will benefit much from having two weeks before the next game on the training pitch.
