A woman has organised a GoFundMe page in order to try to save the lives of a pack of dogs, known at ‘The Patna 13.’

Ayrshire Live can reveal how Lorraine Jardine has helped put the spotlight on their plight – and the page has generated donations of nearly £4,000 already.

t’s understood that the dogs are under the care of Islay Dog Rescue, based in Cumnock.

But it could cost as must as £10,000 to pay for all the dogs’ care needs.

Because they all require “significant care,” money is desperately needed to cover their veterinary expenses.

Lorraine, a co-director of Islay Dog Rescue, stated on her GoFundMe page: “Islay Dog Rescue was asked to come to the relief of a couple pups that were in an inappropriate circumstance recently.

“The dogs all require a great deal of care. The majority require considerable dental work. The dogs with longer hair are extremely matted; in order for us to even attempt to remove their mats, at least two of them may require veterinarian care.

“In total, there are 13 dogs. We shall now declare that we will not participate in any online victimisation or “naming and shaming.” We won’t be talked about the owner or anything related to him either. As usual, our attention is on the dogs. Please listen to us; we are their voices.

“Our aim is to save the lives of them all but it’s not guaranteed without significant veterinary support and anybody with animals knows this is very expensive.

“We are a small, independent rescue and this is a massive financial struggle for us. We have set a target of £5,000 but anticipate bills reaching at least double that.”
