Stevenage’s Kane Hemmings, a former attacker for Barnsley, has joined Crewe Alexandra.
The seasoned striker played in South Yorkshire for the 2014–15 season, making 29 appearances and tallying five goals for Barnsley. After having an extremely productive time at Cowdenbeath in Scotland, he was signed by the Reds.

He has spent several periods of time in England over the past ten years, but he returned north of the border once more in 2015 when he joined Dundee. Hemmings, who played for Stevenage the previous season, has dropped to Crewe’s fourth division.

Crewe Alexandra is happy to announce the signing of striker Kane Hemmings, the club announced in a statement. The 32-year-old, who has amassed 160 goals in his stellar career to far, has agreed to a one-year deal with a one-year extension option.

Hemmings, who is 32, will bring a plethora of experience to the Crewe ranks. Mansfield Town and Notts County are two teams that have benefited from his power in front of goal in League Two, where he has an outstanding record.

Crewe defeated Doncaster Rovers in the play-off semifinals after finishing sixth in the League Two standings the previous year. But at Wembley, Crawley Town won the championship game.
