League Two newcomers Bromley have released former Barnsley defender Cole Kpekawa.
Kpekawa, an academy graduate of Queens Park Rangers, was formerly seen as an intriguing EFL prospect and earned an England under-20 cap. He had already competed in all four English football divisions, including the Premier League, when he signed with Barnsley in 2016.

But things did not quite work out for him in South Yorkshire, as he left the Reds after only seven games. After leaving Barnsley, he signed with Colchester United, however that would be his final EFL season.

Although he has had stints in Scotland and Slovakia, the defender has spent the majority of the last six years in the National League and National League South.
The most recent team he was with was Bromley, who won the National League play-offs and moved up to League Two. He will not, however, be joining the fourth-tier team.

Kpekawa and the other nine players in the squad will be looking for new pastures this summer, according to Bromley. He was loaned out to Kidderminster Harriers at the end of the 2023–2024 season, so he did not finish the season with Bromley.

Playing under former Hull City manager Phil Brown, he made six league games for the Harriers but was unable to keep the team from being relegated to the sixth division.
