Barnsley Interest In League One Boss Played Down

After a run of two victories in nine games, the League One team made the decision to fire Neill Collins prior to their season finale.

In order to secure a spot in the playoffs, interim manager Martin Devaney managed to secure a draw against Northampton Town over the weekend.
He is not positive if he will be managing Barnsley against Bolton Wanderers in the playoff semi-final, and the club is actively seeking a replacement manager.
It is stated, meanwhile, that there is no indication that Wellens, the manager of Leyton Orient, is going to assume leadership.

Although the 44-year-old has shown promise in leading Leyton Orient to a top-half League One finish this season, Barnsley is not currently considering hiring him as their new manager.

Dominik Thalhammer and them have an agreement in place, but they are having trouble obtaining him a work permit.

If the move fails, Barnsley may look to Mike Williamson, the manager of MK Dons, although it would require an agreement on payment for his services.
