BARROW Raiders have signed a dual registration agreement with Salford Red Devils of the Betfred Super League for the 2025 season.
The deal implies that any Salford player on dual registration with Barrow will be able to play and train for both teams.
Andy Gaffney, the Raiders’ director of rugby, has welcomed the arrangement.
He stated on the club’s official website, “We are delighted to have the opportunity to link up with Salford ahead of the new season.”
“Paul Rowley is one of my best friends in the game, and Paul Crarey and I have a lot of respect for him both professionally and personally.
“There is a lot of trust between the three of us, and I’m confident that the guys who come in to bolster.
We have a very trusting connection, and both clubs believe in the same family values that we want our players to embody.”
Barrow and the Red Devils have had a good working relationship in recent years, with several Salford players moving on loan to the Northern Competitions Stadium.
One such player was Jamie Pye, who had a successful spell in Cumbria at the conclusion of last season and has subsequently signed his first professional contract with the Red Devils.
The Raiders and Red Devils’ partnership will allow some of their first-team, fringe, and transition players to get more valuable and consistent first-team minutes.
The player is restricted to playing in one.
