Despite winning 36–18 at home against Barrow Raiders to extend their winning streak to five games, Featherstone Rovers manager James Ford felt his team was not at their best.
Rovers’ win moved them up to sixth in the Betfred Championship and left them in a great position to finish higher. However, head coach Ford is expecting more from his team on Sunday against Swinton and in the final weeks of the campaign. We weren’t quite performing at the same levels as we had been in the preceding weeks, he stated.

We thought of things we should not have thought about in order to let Barrow into the game.

We gave in to their attempts to frighten us a little bit by introducing various rugby terms, we’ll say.

“But in the end, I’m happy that we prevailed in a difficult game.”
