Victims critical after ‘senseless’ double stabbing

On Wednesday, March 27, at just after 10.30 p.m., police were summoned to Kennington station in response to reports of a stabbing victim on the northbound platform.

The culprit had left the scene by the time the cops arrived.

The injured individuals were taken to the hospital by London Ambulance Service, who also responded to the scene. Their conditions are still serious but stable.

According to the police, one of the injured parties is thought to have intervened to try to stop the attack.

According to British Transport Police, there is no indication that this event is connected to the stabbing that occurred at Beckenham Junction earlier in the day.

We are requesting that anyone with information come forward.

As of yet, no one has been taken into custody.

Detective Inspector Paul Attwell, Senior Investigating Officer, stated: “We recognise that this senseless attack will cause concern in certain individuals.”

“With the assistance of CCTV footage, forensics, and in-depth testimonies from witnesses at the scene, our staff have been working through the night.

“We think that one of the victims had injuries as a result of courageously intervening to try to stop the attack.

We strongly advise you to get in touch with BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 and mentioning reference 728 of March 27 if you know anything that could be of assistance to us.

“At 10.37 PM on March 27, 2024, British Transport Police received reports of a member of the public being stabbed on the northbound platform of Kennington station,” a British Transport Police spokesperson stated.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police attended with their colleagues.

But the suspect has already moved on.

The injured victims were rushed to the hospital by the London Ambulance Service, and they are still in a critical but stable condition.

“There is no indication that this event is connected to the stabbing that occurred at Beckenham Junction earlier that day.

“Detectives are looking into everything, and they are asking anyone who knows anything to come forward.

“There have been no arrests made.”
