A body was discovered by police looking for a man in his late 70s who went missing.
According to North Yorkshire Police, Mountain Rescue Volunteers discovered the body on Saturday close to the Wensleydale village of Askrigg.
According to a force spokesman, investigators think the body belongs to Howard Gibbs, who was last seen on Friday at his Askrigg home.
Official identification has not yet taken place, according to the officers, who also stated that his death did not appear to be suspicious.

A spokeswoman stated: “Although formal identification has yet to take place, we believe the man to be missing Howard.”His family has been notified, and at this time, our prayers are with them.”
