After the car he was driving was involved in an accident close to Boroughbridge, an 18-year-old person perished.
On Saturday, the kid was a passenger in a Ford Focus that was involved in an accident with a VW Touran on the B6265 close to the Thorpe Underwood crossroads.
According to authorities, six more persons were injured and sent to the hospital.
The collision occurred at approximately 14:15 BST, and the North Yorkshire force said it was interested in speaking with anyone who witnessed it.
A spokesman urged anyone with dashcam evidence or who had seen either car before the collision to contact them.

A lorry driver has died after his vehicle crashed into a bridge on the A1(M) in North Yorkshire.
The crash happened on the southbound carriageway between Junction 48 for Boroughbridge and Junction 47 for Allerton Park, at about 02:10 BST.
North Yorkshire Police said the 31-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The route remained closed for much of Wednesday, with motorists advised to avoid the area.
Police said “a significant amount of debris and oil” had been removed from the carriageway.
The force appealed for any witnesses to the crash, or anyone who might have dashcam footage of the lorry, to come forward.
Officers also issued a reminder to motorists that it was illegal to use a mobile phone when driving, saying a number of motorists had been seen “driving past and filming the scene”.
“We have taken registration details of approximately 30 vehicles, and we will follow up with action against the drivers,” a spokesperson said.
