An industrial accident at a vehicle garage claimed the life of a Darlington man, and police, air ambulance, and ambulance were called to the scene.

On Friday, at around 8 a.m., emergency personnel were summoned to the Macadams car recovery facility on Boroughbridge Road in Ripon in response to reports of an incident at the location.

Teams from ambulance, air ambulance, fire department, and police were on the scene; police confirmed that the man, a Darlington resident in his 30s, passed away on the spot.

According to a statement from North Yorkshire Police, the Health and Safety Executive will now be in charge of the case’s investigation.

According to a police official, “We responded to a vehicle recovery facility following a fatal industrial accident.”

“A man from the Darlington area who was in his 30s died as a result of it, and it happened at about eight in the morning.

“He was tragically declared deceased at the site. The police have been notified and are providing help to his family.

“Police, fire, ambulance, and air ambulance units were present.

“We are assisting the accident investigation lead by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).”
