Nuneaton and Bedworth has a proud tradition of honouring the fallen and this weekend is no exception. Sunday (November 10)
will see Remembrance parades and services take place in not only the two towns, but also two of its villages.
This will mean that road closures will be in place so that proud Ex-Servicemen and women, as well as serving officers and the next generation of Armed Forces personnel can take part in processions. The parades are also set to include members of local scouts and guide groups as well as civic dignitaries.
As well as Remembrance Sunday, there is also another huge and proud event in the borough on Armistice Day – November 11. Bedworth will continue its tradition of being the only place outside of London to observe the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month for more than 100 years.
The parade starts from Town Hall at approximately 10.30am heading to Riversley Park, crossing roundabout and walking down A444 before entering the park via Fusilier Louis Carter Drive. A At around 11.35am the parade begins to retrace its steps back to the Town Hall and town centre.
As a result, there will be road closures along the route, including Coventry Street and its parking bays, Coton Road (A444), Fusilier Louis Carter Drive and the whole of town centre. The Ropewalk car park will be also held until safe.
