A body – believed to be of a missing Beith man – has been discovered in Lochwinnoch.
This morning at approximately eleven a.m., a man’s body was discovered in the Castle Semple Loch.
The family of Kenneth Watson, 62, who was reported missing from Beith last week, has been notified; however, formal identification is still pending.
Last Tuesday, Kenneth Watson was reported missing when he did not come back to his Beith house near Beech Avenue.
Concerned for the 62-year-old’s wellbeing, police had been requesting information about his whereabouts until his car was discovered in the Lochwinnoch region on November 30.
At 9:30 p.m. that evening, he was last observed at that address.
Since then, his automobile has been located close to Lochlip Road in the Lochwinnoch neighbourhood.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact cause of death, which is not being treated as suspicious,” a Police Scotland spokesperson stated.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
