Following the death of a teenage e-bike rider in a two-vehicle collision, a 17-year-old boy has been charged.

When the event occurred on Thursday, May 30, Aaron McPherson, also 17, was riding the e-bike. He was taken to the hospital and passed away on Saturday, June 15.

At approximately 11:45 p.m., an e-bike and a car collided on Grangemouth’s Portal Road.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged in relation to the incident, according to the police, and he is scheduled to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Friday.

After being detained in connection with the event, an 18-year-old guy was freed awaiting additional investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector David MacGregor stated: “Aaron’s family and friends are still in our thoughts.”

Officers are providing them with information and help while our investigation is ongoing.

“I would like to express my gratitude to the members of the public who have already come forward and I kindly request that anyone else with information who has not yet spoken to police do so.”
