A pair of incidents in Beith and Kilbirnie were reported to police on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5.
Police say they have no information to suggest the two incidents are linked.
The first collision took place on Beith’s Park Avenue where police say a man was “struck by a vehicle”.
They say that no complaint has been made as a result of this, with no crime established at present, though enquiries remain ongoing.
According to a spokesman for Police Scotland, “We received a report that a man had been struck by a vehicle on Park Avenue, Beith, around 6.20 p.m. on Saturday, May 4.
“Officers showed up to get further details and document the situation, but at this point, no complaint has been filed and no crime has been proven.
“Inquiries are still ongoing.”
In the second incident, a car struck a 46-year-old man on Kilbirnie’s Main Street.
The motorist in this event did not stop, and according to the police, they are trying to find both the car and the driver.
A force spokesperson said: “Around 6.10pm on Sunday, May 5, we were called to a report of a 46-year-old man struck by a car on Main Street, Kilbirnie.
“The car failed to stop and enquiries are continuing to trace the car and it’s driver.
“Officers are following a number of lines of enquiry.”
