Football Insider has been informed by sources that Chris Davies, the deputy manager of Tottenham, has agreed to take over as manager of Birmingham City.

The 39-year-old and the Blues have reached a complete deal, and he will now begin his first position in senior management.
After joining the Lilywhites from Leicester last year, Davies is currently Ange Postecoglou’s assistant at Tottenham (2023).

Tony Mowbray, who stepped down in May to recuperate from illness, has been replaced with someone from Birmingham, and an announcement is anticipated shortly.

On the last day of the 2023–24 season, the Blues were demoted to League One, and for the first time in 29 years, they will play football in the third division the next season.

Before moving to Tottenham under Postecoglou, Davies worked in Brendan Rodgers’ backroom staff at Swansea, Liverpool, Leicester, and Celtic.
In December 2023, the Swans attempted to appoint him as their new manager, but the moment has come for him to take the managerial helm.

On Tuesday, June 4, Football Insider disclosed that Frank Lampard was also interviewed by Birmingham over his potential appointment as their new manager; however, the legend of Chelsea and England is not expected to be named.

The Midlands club, at the end of the 2023–24 season, has released its retained list.

Following their relegation, Neil Etheridge, Gary Gardner, Scott Hogan, Marc Roberts, and Ivan Sunjic were all dismissed; Lukas Jutkiewicz and John Ruddy, on the other hand, were handed new contracts.

In other news, Tottenham, Chelsea, and Manchester United are vying for the Birmingham sensation.
