In an attempt to get Declan Frith as a summer transfer, Watford has extended a contract offer to the winger.

Nizaar Kinsella, a writer for BBC Sport, has reported on the Hornets’ interest in the 22-year-old and offered an update on it. Frith never played for a senior team while at Chelsea or Aston Villa, but he was a member of both youth programmes in the past.

The winger moved to Valencia last summer, where he has been playing for the team’s B squad in the fourth division of Spanish football. He departed Villa.

But now, after spending just one season away, it appears like Frith may be returning to England.
Watford, QPR, and Birmingham City were reportedly interested in completing the signing of Frith during the summer transfer window earlier this season.

With Kinsella’s most recent update suggesting that the Hornets had extended a contract offer to the 22-year-old in an attempt to lure him to Vicarage Road, it appears that they are attempting to capitalise on this interest.

As things stand, Frith’s contract with Valencia is still good for one year, thus in order for Watford to sign the winger, they would also need to reach an agreement with Valencia.

Frith has made 14 appearances for Valencia’s B squad this season, scoring once, while not playing for their first team this year.
