Finally decision made on birmingham next manager

Birmingham City’s search for their next manager has begun after Tony Mowbray’s permanent exit was confirmed.

Blues announced on Tuesday morning that Mowbray had made the decision not to return following a forced period of medical absence. The 60-year-old initially stepped aside in February to take six-to-eight to focus on his health, before extending that time further.

Now, a couple of months into his recovery from a surgical procedure, Mowbray has made the difficult decision to step down from Blues entirely. Blues are thankful for Mowbray’s selfless thinking in alerting the club so quickly.

Birmingham will now commence their hunt for a new head coach, with CEO Garry Cook confirming so. “I would personally like to commend Tony for informing us of his decision so soon after the end of the season,” Cook said.

“It provides us the opportunity to undertake a rigorous search process to identify the right leader to take our club forward and have that person in place before the start of pre-season,” the club chief confirmed.

But who could realistically be the next man in the dugout at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park? With debates set to fire up across the West Midlands, the market has opened. Here’s a run-through of the current favourites.
