After John Eustace was fired and Wayne Rooney took over as manager back in October, the Blues have been losing games at a quite concerning rate. The former player is taking over for this team.

After the legendary Manchester United player was brought in as a replacement, Tony Mowbray’s untimely sickness caused another dip in performance under assistant Mark Venus.

Given that Blues are currently outside of the bottom three on goal differential, Rowett must now save the team.

Paul Robinson joins the coaching staff of Gary Rowett

It was revealed last week that he had brought Dave Carolan and Paul Robinson, two staff members, with him to the club, so he hasn’t spent any time in establishing his impact there either.

The 45-year-old Robinson’s decision to join the team would especially delight Blues supporters because he truly loves the team.

The former left-back played his final games as a player at St. Andrew’s, where he made 175 appearances while wearing the royal blue uniform, many of them as captain. He hung up his boots and went on to work in the backroom.

Robinson went through a lot at Blues at that time, including multiple relegation scraps, and his attitude was crucial in keeping the team from repeatedly dropping down to League One.

Although he can no longer affect the outcome of the game on the field, Robinson is the kind of person you would want by your side while you struggle to remain awake.

He has many of the same traits as a coach as he did when he was a player. He will hold everyone around him to a high standard, ensure that everyone plays for the badge, and show complete dedication to achieving outcomes.

Right now for the Blues, winning is the only thing on their mind with eight games remaining in the Championship.

As long as the team scores points to stay out of the bottom three come May, nobody will care how they play.

Neil Harris’s transformation of Millwall is an illustration of what’s required at this point in the season. Despite the fact that they don’t play particularly attractive football, he has inspired the team, and with 10 points from his first five games, they have some much-needed breathing room at the bottom.

Replicating that is the task for people at St. Andrew’s, and they will approach it in a similar manner.

It can be dangerous at times to provide a managing team a short-term contract. Given that they might be departing in the summer, do they really care?

Due to his long association with the team, Rowett will do everything in his power to keep Blues winning, and his choice to bring on Robinson indicates that he has another staff member who is passionate about the team.

That might just provide Birmingham with the slight advantage they need to defeat their opponents in this extremely competitive Championship bottom third.
