Alex Dicken and Brian Dick piece together their Birmingham City line-ups for the huge match against Huddersfield Town

Gary Rowett is getting ready to choose the squad that will represent Birmingham City in the biggest match of his career. This encompasses his initial tenure in the St Andrew’s position.
Blues’ penultimate Championship season matchup is against Huddersfield Town on Saturday. The fact that Blues risk relegation on Saturday in the event that results go against them illustrates how dire their situation is.

The likelihood is that the Blues will fight to the very end, but how well they do in the struggle will depend on what transpires at John Smith’s Stadium. After Blues’ loss to already-relegated Rotherham last weekend, a win is much required.

Brian Dick (BD) and Alex Dicken (AD) have assembled their XIs and provided an explanation of their working out. Check out what they had to say below.

Aside from Coventry, Blues haven’t defeated a team by two goals or more since John Eustace’s last week in office, when West Bromwich Albion and Huddersfield were defeated. Though it may sound pessimistic, I really believe that Blues will remain in the Championship if they continue to preserve clean sheets, hence I believe the setup should reflect that.

From that victory over Coventry, Marc Roberts and Siriki Dembele would be added to my starting lineup. Oliver Burke will almost certainly be replaced in the starting lineup by Koji Miyoshi.

Blues now have the height to counter Huddersfield’s set pieces with to the addition of Marc Roberts in place of his namesake Tyler and Paik Seung-ho, who moves into a more advanced position to make room for Krystian Bielik’s return to midfield. The Terriers have scored 13 set pieces goals, more than any other club in the Championship save for five. Michal Helik, a defender, has nine of them. The inclusion of Roberts, Bielik, and Dion Sanderson in the starting lineup allows the Blues to contend at set pieces.

Rowett will undoubtedly take Dembele into consideration given the probability that Matty Pearson will start at right back for Huddersfield. Dembele

I would start Marc Roberts and Siriki Dembele in my starting lineup after our victory over Coventry. Oliver Burke should be replaced in the starting lineup once more by Koji Miyoshi.

The Blues have the height to handle Huddersfield’s set pieces with Marc Roberts replacing his namesake Tyler and Paik Seung-ho assuming a more advanced role to make room for Krystian Bielik’s return to midfield. There are just five teams in the Championship that have scored as many goals from set pieces as the Terriers (13). Michal Helik, the defender, has nine goals to his credit. Blues have a chance to contend in set pieces with Roberts, Bielik, and Dion Sanderson in the starting lineup.

Given the probability of Matty Pearson starting at right back for Huddersfield, Rowett will undoubtedly give Dembele some thought. Demobele

Seung-ho Paik is the most complete central midfield option in terms of physicality, mobility, and technically, but Ivan Sunjic keeps his spot after making a strong comeback into the team. Jay Stansfield is a lock to start as the attacking number one.

For the assaulting trio, there are numerous choices. Keshi Anderson has likely been the Blues’ most reliable winger over the past two games, but Juninho Bacuna will want to play against his former team and has the capacity to create something from nothing, whether it’s an assist or a goal.

Because he is most likely to play near to Stansfield, Tyler Roberts, Siriki Dembele, and Koji Miyoshi—who was overlooked at Rotherham—are my choices. The Blues must score. Dembele is still there.
