Following a catastrophic crash on the M55, a man has passed away.

Yesterday, at approximately 5:15 p.m., police were contacted in response to reports of an accident near junction 3 on the westbound carriageway.

A Peugeot 308 and a Jaguar F-Pace R Sport vehicle were involved in the collision.

After emergency personnel arrived, the Jaguar’s driver was sent to Royal Preston Hospital, where he tragically passed away shortly after.

There were two kids in the back of the Jaguar who were hurt. One girl had a possible broken leg, while the other had a slight head injury. The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital received both of them.

The man in his 40s who was operating the Peugeot had minor injuries.

For the purpose of conducting an accident investigation, the road was closed for over five hours.

Information is being requested, and we are pleading with any witnesses to come forward.

Our prayers are with the man’s family and all those affected during this extremely trying period, since these are awful circumstances.

We are trying to determine the precise events that occurred, therefore we kindly ask that anyone with information that could help with our inquiry get in touch with us right once.
