After Blackpool defeated title rivals Bolton Wanderers 4-1 to strengthen Portsmouth’s League One promotion push, Kyle Joseph, the striker for Blackpool, praised his team’s tenacity.

Although Pompey was only able to salvage a draw from their Saturday trip to Charlton Athletic, any disappointment was soon forgotten when John Mousinho’s team exited the pitch to learn that both Bolton and Derby County, another title competitor, had suffered losses.

Bolton lost the match in Blackpool despite having taken the lead early on thanks to goals from George Thomason, Jake Beesley, Marvin Ekpiteta, and Jordan Gabriel. The hosts won 4-1 at Bloomfield Road. Pompey led the league by seven points after the three victories, but Blackpool’s Joseph chose to concentrate on his team’s accomplishments as they pursued a play-off spot.

According to what he said on the team website, “League One enjoyed the spectacle.” It was an amazing sensation to triumph; for the fans, it was a derby match as well. They will go and have a great time, I’m sure. We demonstrated resilience, something we have occasionally needed this season, particularly at home when there is a large group of people cheering you on. We were certain that our quality would show throughout the game since we had great players on the team and excellent players off the bench. Thankfully, this proved to be the case.

Oxford United youngster eyed by Championship club

According to reports, Blackburn Rovers are keeping an eye on Jacob Fowler, an academy standout for Oxford United.

The gifted midfielder, who is the son of Liverpool icon Robbie, is still on the U’s roster but has been given the opportunity to join Scottish powerhouse Rangers on trial. Journalist Alan Nixon reported via his Patreon account that Fowler played for the Rovers Under-18s earlier this month in a 5-1 loss to their Liverpool counterparts. According to Nixon, the Championship club is still keeping an eye on the young player’s development.

Former Chelsea and Celtic star praised after Bristol Rovers goal

Matt Taylor, the manager of Bristol Rovers, has complimented veteran Scott Sinclair, who scored the game-winning goal in his team’s 2-1 victory over struggling Carlisle United at home.

Josh Vela’s goal at the quarter-hour mark gave the Cumbrians, who came into the Memorial Stadium at the bottom of the League One standings, an unexpected lead. But ten minutes before halftime, Chris Martin tied the score for Rovers, which created the opportunity for Sinclair to score the game’s winning goal early in the second half and win his manager’s plaudits.

“In terms of his intent every single day, he is a true professional, which is why he’s had such a good career,” he told BristolWorld. He is acting on this passion for both the club and football. This season, he hasn’t been as consistent with the formations and personnel, but he’s kept himself where he needs to be in terms of his fitness and his impact in training has been absolutely excellent for a senior player and now he’s taking his chance and he’s contributed.
