The most recent information on the Bolton Wanderers team as Ian Evatt’s group prepares to take on Barnsley in the playoffs.
This evening, Bolton Wanderers will travel to Oakwell for the first leg of their play-off semifinal match.

The Trotters placed third in League One at the end of the season, behind Derby County and Portsmouth.

Ian Evatt’s team is keen to prevent a recurrence of last year’s defeat at this point, as they were defeated by the Tykes.

Bolton Wanderers team news

The Bolton News reports that Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Carlos Mendes Gomes are still absent from Bolton Wanderers. On the plus side, Victor Adeboyejo is healthy enough to play against Barnsley, his old team.

Starting XI

Baxter, Cogley, Jones, Santos, Toal, Williams, Sheehan, Dempsey, Thomason, Collins, Charles

Nathan Baxter, Bolton Wanderers’ first choice custodian, has recently made a full recovery from an injury. Joel Coleman serves as a reserve backup.

Josh Dacres-Cogley on the right and Randell Williams on the left enjoy cutting back and forth along the flanks when playing wing-back.

The back three in the centre of defence, Gethin Jones, Ricardo Santos, and Eoin Toal, then try to fend off Barnsley’s attackers.

Evatt has a few options in midfield, but he’s probably going to stick with the three players that started at the middle of the park against Peterborough United on the last day: Josh Sheehan, George Thomason, and Kyle Dempsey. Aaron Morley will be available if needed as well.

Now that Adeboyejo is set to make his comeback, Bolton Wanderers have an abundance of attacking options. Two of their main players, Aaron Collins and Dion Charles, are their danger men and should be kept quiet by Barnsley.

Last weekend, Cameron Jerome scored a goal against the Posh after coming off the bench.
