Bradford City boss emerge favourite for vacant rival position; His response#

Simon Gryason, a former manager of Leeds United, Huddersfield Town, and Bradford City, is now the overwhelming favourite to lead Cambridge United.

Since parting ways with Indian team Bengaluru in December, the 54-year-old has been unemployed. With ½ remaining, he is now the BetVictor favourite to win at the Abbey Stadium.

Barry Corr, who took over after Neil Harris shocked the U’s by departing for Millwall, is currently Cambridge’s interim manager. Harris responded to a Lions SOS call while his former team was fighting to stay in the Championship.

Although Grayson’s reputation as a manager has declined recently, he still has a wealth of EFL management experience. Having successfully navigated League One with Blackpool, Leeds, Huddersfield, and Preston North End, he is also an expert in third-tier promotions.

He signed a short-term contract with Bradford in 2018 but left when it expired, ending his most recent stint in Yorkshire.

Ahead of Grayson on the list of front-runners for the Cambridge position is Mark Kennedy, the former head coach of Lincoln City. Garry Monk, another former Leeds manager, is behind Kennedy.

Former Barnsley manager Michael Duff is the fourth favourite at 6/1, with Gary Rowett and Lee Johnson as outsiders.
