Bradford City’s defender has been named in the League Two Team of the Season.

Halliday, 28, has also scored twice in his last two appearances from the back.

According to the Telegraph and Argus, his manager stated: “It’s 100% deserved (TOTS) because he’s been superb.” Brad deserves to receive what he wants out of the game because he works hard at it. You can see that every day.

“He’s always out there training in t-shirts and shorts, regardless of the weather. He’s simply a proper footballer. He doesn’t complain about anything; he simply puts his head down and strives to make the best of any situation.”1

Halliday’s contract with Bradford ends at the end of the season, and he has yet to sign an extension, meaning he will become a free agent as things stand.

Losing him for nothing, most likely to another Football League club, would be a big blow for the Bantams so they need to secure his future as soon as they can.

He moved to Valley Parade back in 2022 and has since been a regular for the Yorkshire club.

It has been a disappointing season for Bradford and they will be hoping for much better time around.

Prior to joining his current club, Halliday formerly played for Middlesbrough, Cambridge United, Doncaster Rovers, and Fleetwood Town.

It remains to be seen if he will continue past the end of June, but in the meanwhile, he will be eager to finish the term on a high note.

The Bantams are unbeaten in their previous four matches and are 13th in the table with three games remaining.

They are five points out of the play-offs and face an away journey to Walsall next as they attempt to build on their previous triumph over Salford City. Alexander’s troops will then face Barrow and Newport County.
