GRAHAM Alexander has had his first meeting with Stefan Rupp.
The City owner saw Mansfield demolish them 5-1 last weekend while attending Valley Parade.
Rupp had never met the manager in person, so he was in England to talk about the player budget for the upcoming season.
Alexander stated: “Last Friday, Stefan and Ryan (Sparks) and I had a nice conversation for a few hours in the office.”
He merely wanted to know what I thought of the club and what we thought we would need to succeed going forward. That is actually typical manager/owner conversation.
Then, as the demand rises for Rupp to sell the team, he was singled out by irate supporters during City’s worst home loss since 2020.
Without a doubt, Alexander continued, “It was disappointing for him to be here on such a disappointing day for us.” But I don’t believe that to be the true us.
“We’ve won six straight games for the first time since the 1980s, followed by a losing streak.
We were probably at the top of the form table four weeks ago, but we have already dropped three of our home games.
We are capable of achieving excellent outcomes and having excellent form, but we are also capable of what we have accomplished over the past eight days. That is what we must get rid of.
