23-year-old man who died after stabbing in Bradford is named

A Bradford man who died after being stabbed has been identified locally.

The 23-year-old was identified as Luqman Ashfaq by Janaza Announcements, a Muslim grief service.

The victim was described as a “good kid” by one man who claimed to know him.

“He had a good heart,” he continued. It is depressing to observe.

In response to the stabbing on Barlow Street in the city’s Barkerend neighbourhood, West Yorkshire Police said it opened a murder inquiry.

According to a force spokesperson: “The ambulance service called officers at 22.29 last night to report that a male was unconscious and had been stabbed.

“After being brought to the hospital, a 23-year-old guy was tragically declared dead.

Back Heath Terrace, Upper Rushton Road, Barlow Street, Barkerend Road, Harewood Street, and Gladstone Street are among the scenes that are now under progress.

“The Homicide and Major Enquiry Team’s detectives are conducting in-depth investigations.

“Local Neighbourhood Policing Patrols have been stepped up to provide reassurance.”

A stabbing on a Bradford street has prompted the opening of a MURDER investigation.

At 10.29 p.m. last night, the ambulance service reported that a male was “unconscious with stab wounds” on Barlow Street, and West Yorkshire Police were contacted.

After being taken to the hospital, a 23-year-old male was declared deceased.

Several streets in the Barkerend neighbourhood, including Back Heath Terrace, Upper Rushton Road, Barlow Street, Barkerend Road, Harewood Street, and Gladstone Street, have police cordons in place.

A “massive police presence and loads of local roads closed” is what one reader of the Telegraph & Argus reported.

They stated: “I didn’t see it till I tried to go to work and I kept having to change directions to get to Leeds Road.”

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are carrying out extensive enquiries.

Local Neighbourhood Policing Patrols have been stepped up to provide reassurance.

“Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a man was stabbed on Barlow Street, Bradford.

“Officers were called at 22.29 last night (21 October) by the ambulance service to reports a man was unconscious with stab wounds.

“A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead.

“A number of scenes are on including Back Heath Terrace, Upper Rushton Road, Barlow Street, Barkerend Road, Harewood Street and Gladstone Street.
