A WOMAN suffered serious head injuries when a car crashed into a lamp post in Bradford

A WOMAN suffered serious injuries when a car crashed into a lamp post in Bradford on Sunday afternoon.

Yesterday at 1:30 pm, there was a collision on Halifax Road close to the city’s Low Moor neighbourhood.

The female passenger in the car was rushed to the hospital after suffering severe injuries to her legs. The motorist was eventually found at the hospital after originally leaving the scene.

“At 1.31pm yesterday (Sunday), police received a report of a collision in Halifax Road, close to its junction with Cemetery Road in Bradford,” a West Yorkshire officers spokesperson said.

“Officers attended and found a woman with injuries which required hospital treatment. It was also reported that the driver of the vehicle, a black Honda Jazz, had made off from the scene.

“Halifax Road was closed between Netherlands Avenue and Cemetery Road while enquiries were carried out into the collision, which caused damage to a lamp post.

“The woman was taken to hospital where it was found she had suffered a serious leg injury which was not life-threatening. “The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old man, was also located at hospital.

“He was initially arrested on suspicion of several offences relating to the collision but was later de-arrested to receive medical treatment.

“Enquiries into the collision are continuing and anyone with information which may assist these is asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101, or by using the livechat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website, quoting reference number 13240380170.”
