Toronto police say a stabbing in the city’s west end has killed one person and left another wounded.
Shortly after six on Thursday morning, according to police, there was an altercation between a group of people at Lakeshore Boulevard West and Islington Avenue.
A male patient who had been stabbed was taken by paramedics to the hospital, where they declared him dead.
According to Toronto Police Service Duty Inspector Dan Pravica, they are searching for a second male victim who they believe was hurt in the incident but has not yet sought medical attention.
As per Pravica, there were more than two participants in the altercation.
As they look into the matter, police say the area will be closed for “a while.”
