Yankuba Minteh, a winger for Newcastle United with ties to Everton, is reportedly being chased by Brighton.

The 19-year-old was a standout for Feyenoord when on loan there last season, helping the Dutch team with six assists and 10 goals.
Many teams have taken notice of his excellent play, including Premier League teams Everton and Brighton as well as French team Lyon. Following Arne Slot’s transfer from Feyenoord to Anfield, Liverpool has also been connected, though it appears doubtful that Minteh will move to the red side of Merseyside.

According to reports, a move to Everton has fallen through, making Brighton under Fabian Hurzeler the obvious favourites to capture the teenager.

Brighton is “leading the race” for the Newcastle striker
A source from iNews claims that the Seagulls currently “lead Everton in the race” to recruit Minteh from Premier League rivals Newcastle, which confirms thus much.

The Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability guidelines (PSR) will force Newcastle to broker transactions before the end of the month, so forcing Brighton’s interest to become “advanced.”

In addition to Lyon, it’s reported that Borussia Dortmund has shown interest overseas as well. After Minteh’s season on loan at Feyenoord, clubs in other countries were intrigued.

Minteh prioritises remaining in the Premier League, therefore a move to Brighton “is likely to appeal.” Despite this, the Gambian international is reportedly “relaxed” about the mounting rumours over his future.

The report also states that no agreement involving Minteh moving to the Amex is anticipated to contain a buy-back clause.

Newcastle fans are angry that their team is considering selling the 19-year-old winger, who will depart without having had an opportunity to make an impression at St. James’ Park.

On the other hand, Newcastle would be able to balance the books and stay out of trouble if Minteh was sold.

Additionally, it would allay supporters’ concerns about the futures of star players Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes.
