The Bristol Bears and loosehead prop Jake Woolmore have extended their contract, the team has announced.
On the last day of the 2023–24 season, the seasoned prop—who joined from Jersey Reds in the summer of 2018—signed a new contract to stay with the team for a seventh season. He became the 14th player to reach 150 competitive appearances for Bristol.
“Jake is a proven, consistent Premiership performer and one of the club’s most capped players in the top-flight, so I’m really pleased to be keeping a player of his calibre and experience at the club,” stated Bears director of rugby Pat Lam.
“It’s an incredible accomplishment to reach 150 games at this level, and Woolly has greatly benefited the Bears both on and off the pitch since joining the team in 2018.”
He is a terrific team player, well-liked by everyone, and will keep on being a key figure in the club, coaching our up-and-coming players, particularly the front rowers.
“I’m thrilled to be joining this fantastic club for a seventh season, and I’m excited about the potential of our young and exciting squad for next season, especially coming off such a strong finish to the 2023/24 campaign,” Woolmore continued.
“Bristol has felt like home since I moved here from Jersey in 2018, and I’m incredibly proud of the city and community that we represent both on and off the pitch.”
