Bristol Rovers boss makes huge comparison over two League one clubs.

In League One, Bristol Rovers’ coach Matt Taylor reckons there’s “nothing bigger” than taking on Derby County. He thinks the’monstrous’ Rams could be even more formidable than Bolton and Portsmouth combined.

After Bolton’s midweek draw at Barnsley dropped them to third in the table, Paul Warne’s team will be visiting Rovers tomorrow in an attempt to keep up the pressure at the top of League One. In their pursuit of a return to the Championship, Derby needs just one road win to tie the club record for away victories in a season against a mid-table Rovers team.

Taylor is excited about the prospect of taking on Warne’s team tomorrow and thinks the guests will pose a serious danger in what promises to be an exciting atmosphere.

“At our level of football, there’s nothing bigger,” Taylor stated to BristolLive. Bolton and Portsmouth have been brought up. Derby, in my opinion, is just as large as the two combined, if not larger. A terrifying club. Their entire past, the strain, the expectation. A great football match.

a full house following a few strong performances. The two teams are in the ideal place and will go at it after their convincing victory over Port Vale the previous weekend. However, you will witness the opposition’s individual quality on display. We must not only match it but also ensure that our sense of unity is evident.

This week, there will be a full house. I’m confident that they’ll arrive well-supported, just as we will. I’m hoping for a thrilling football match. This fanbase has always said that we’ve been able to step up our game against the bigger teams, so we’re definitely going to have to do that this weekend because, as I mentioned, there’s some real strength in the opposition. I hope both the players and the fans can really get into the game. A home Derby should be something to look forward to.
